Standards & Review Framework

Editorial & Technical Review Policy

How we source, calculate, peer-review, and maintain technical accuracy across all published glass monographs.

1. Primary Sourcing & Verification Standards

Every performance claim, test standard, and calculation method published on BuyGlass.com must be derived from verified primary literature, including:

  • British Standards Institution (BSI) and European Committee for Standardization (CEN) publications (BS EN 12150, BS EN 14449, BS EN 1279, BS EN 13501-2, BS 6180).
  • UK Building Regulations Approved Documents (England & Wales) and Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
  • Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) testing standards and technical notes.
  • Accredited third-party laboratory test reports (Warringtonfire, BRE, BBA, Lucideon).

2. Absolute Prohibition of Fabricated Claims

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy against marketing fabrications:

  • No Invented Case Studies: We never cite fictional projects, clients, or landmark installations.
  • No Fabricated Pricing or Turnarounds: Real commercial supply lead times and bespoke processing costs vary by factory load and logistics; we never invent artificial turnaround guarantees.
  • No Thickness-to-Safety Inferences: We never declare a glass pane "safe" based on thickness alone. Suitability requires structural stress, impact classification (EN 12600), and boundary fixing verification.

3. Peer Review & Revision Lifecycle

Every technical article and taxonomy profile undergoes an annual peer review cycle conducted by chartered facade structural engineers and materials specialists. Each monograph explicitly displays the named reviewer and verification date.
